Start GPL Lotus 49 Zandvoort Video

Below some pictures of Jim Clark Lotus 49. This car was present during the Rob Slotemaker Memorial which was held at the Zandvoort Race track at 25/26 September 2004. As I found out later this specific car is a replica of Jim's 1968 South African Grand Prix-winning chassis, built in the late 1990s. This info was kindly submitted by Michael Oliver, a British motor sport writer and historian who has written quite a number of interesting books on several types of Lotus cars, amongst which the famous 49.

As I was at the track quite early I had every opportunity to photograph the car from each angle and even put my son Rick in for a nice picture. Unfortunately we had to leave early too and sadly enough didn't see the Lotus in action.

The pic on the right shows the sad remains of Jim's car after his fatal crash on April 7th, 1968. At Hockenheim there's still a memorial that keeps the memories of this hero alive.

Below an incredibly looking picture which I came across on the internet. It's done with 3D rendering software like Cinema 4D or similar. Well deserved credit goes to the creator of this beauty that calls himself "Tyio". The original measures 1600x1200 and 5,5Mb, which gives a lovely desktop!
