Unmanned Space Flight

Our desire to explore and the curiosity for the unknown are a part of our human nature. Nearly four decades ago we started to explore space. We realized a dream. People had begun to explore our solar system: for the first time in human history man had set foot on another celestial body, the moon.

But it didn't stop there, we began to explore the other planets, first the outer planets with the Pioneer- and Voyager missions and later the inner planets. We landed on Mars with the Viking missions and later the Pathfinder mission, with its Mars rover Sojourner. In 1990 we even turned one of the Voyager probes around to make a photo of our own solar system. >>>
