Collecting Movies with use of NZB files from your own provider => download and convert to usable files with newsleecher:

http://www.newsleecher.com (free trial, newsleecher not very user friendly but powerful).

You must find out the name of the news of your provider! E.g. “newszilla.xs4all.nl” for xs4all

Note: As long as you use the movies for yourself  it’s not illegal (no distribution etc.), like watching a movie on the telly.

NEWS-leeching is similar to making a copy on tape/disc from a TV broadcast, for private use only. News is a kind of broadcasting.

(Clearly this is not the case for games!!). Sometimes it’s easier to watch it on youtube!

Note: DVD’s are usually already ripped by somebody, keeps you away from this illegal activity….

And off course, a movie lover goes to the movies (the real thing) and buy’s a DVD every now and then….      Right?

We must support the movie makers and actors!

Is it possible to Back up your own DVD?

-Sure, use some kind of program that creates a copy.

-e.g.   Nero. http://www.nero.com  (free trials)

Nero Software allows a copy of the whole DVD into an ISO file (Nero BackItUp)

Note!              Nero Software allows a copy of the main movie, dump the crap around it and save space (Nero Recode).

Nero Software allows you to create a virtual drive which can load ISO files, handy (Nero Imagedrive).

-Sometimes a DVD is secured, then you need something like smartripper to make a usable copy on your hard drive.

This should not be required  if you only create an ISO file.
