Poker
History
The exact origins of poker are not known. People think
it's a descendant from a game called As Nas, played in ancient Persia.
The game poker as we know apeared in New Orleans somewhere around 1820.
By the coming of the railroad it spread all over America and became
America's best known and most popular cardgame. In time there came more
and more variants of the game.
Unlike Blackjack Poker is played player against other players. Blackjack
you play against the dealer of the house.
Hold'em
You have 7-card stud poker and 5-card draw poker. Because 7-card stud
poker
is the most played poker game in poker rooms at this moment I will show
you the rules to that game. You
can play the game at tables of 2-10 players. Everyone has to bring in
the start money and only 1-3 players will take off with some of the
prizes.
Rules
Hold'em also called Sit-And-Go poker
First of all you must choose a table of 2-10 players. As soon as
the chairs are all seated the game will start.
Cards will be dealed by the dealer. To start the game two blinds
will be placed left from the dealer. The 1st one will be half the
minimum bet and the second will be the minimum bet. The longer the
game takes the higher the minimum bet gets. The player with the
highest hand (5 cards) will win.
1st round
Every player will get two blind cards which only can been seen by
you.
After everyone got the two pocket cards the betting will start at
the person left of the person with the highest blind.
If it's your turn to bet you can eather fold (throwing your cards),
call (go with highest bet) or raise the last bet.
If no one placed a bet you also can check (no bets are placed).
Bets can be raised until the limit has been reached or everyone
called.
2nd round
Now the dealer will deal 3 cards called the FLOP. These cards
will be placed in the mid of the table and can been seen by everyone.
When the cards are dealed the betting starts again.
3th round
An extra card will be dealed next to the FLOP. This one is
called the TURN and the next round of betting will start.
last round
After the third round the last card will be revealed and is
called RIVER. Now the last bets can be placed.
Last but not least the winner will be revealed. The player with the
highest hand will take the pot. If there are 2 or more players with
the same highest hand the pot will we devided between the winners.
If allowed you will get the possibility to MUCK (throw but not show)
your cards so the other players will not see the hand you had.
After the winner is revealed the next game will start. The new
dealer will be the first one left to the last one and the new game
will start. This will go on until ther's only one player left at the
table. This one will be the one who will win the 1st prize.
