Schools

The Ruth School is a government-accredited primary school which accepts poor children who for various reasons would otherwise fall outside the education system. Besides education, children receive a daily meal, extra tuition where needed and the chance to take part in various extra-curricular activities.

Although Project Ruth's main emphasis is work among the Gypsy community, it does not exclude children on grounds of race, gender, colour or religion.

A government-supported university preparatory school that teaches Romani language and culture in addition to the standard Hungarian academic subjects.
"We believe it is absolutely necessary to promote the development of a well-educated, professional, and self-confident Gypsy intelligentsia, whose members will be able to define and defend their cultural identity".
