Dolphins make me cry

Don't know what the world is gonna do
Or if we can get off
the road that were on
There's hate in my brothers eye
but as the time goes by
I get harder

We say we learn by our mistakes
and then we carry on
Sometimes I am not sure,
sometimes I am not sure
There's no brakes on this car
as it rolls down the hill
My muscles are straining,
my foots through the floor

Perhaps that's why,
perhaps that's why
I see the dolphin and it makes me cry
As I look in your eye,
as I look in your eye
As the time goes by,
it makes me cry

Don't want to go to school
anymore today
Because history keeps on
repeating herself
She can't forgive she just licks all of her wounds
And sore is the day
and sore is the night

Perhaps that's why,
perhaps that's why
I see the dolphin and it makes me cry
As I look in your eye,
as I look in your eye
As the time goes by,
it makes me cry

When I was a boy when I was growing up
Life was so simple then,
life was so sweet
Now that I am older
I am wise as a fool
I keep on breaking those golden,
golden rules

Perhaps that's why,
perhaps that's why
I see the dolphin and it makes me cry
As I look in your eye,
as I look in your eye
As the time goes by,
it makes me cry

Did you ever touch the loneliness
of a broken man
Did you ever see a starving child die
Do we really do these things to one another
Do you see why,
dolphins make me....cry

This song was contributed by Sue: "This song is for me about the pain of living. It is also an expression of a feeling I have living as a christian lesbian . Just like in this song I see at times the hate in the eyes of my brothers and sisters, the people in the street, my family and the church. Why do they really hate gay people or my sexuality? Sometimes I am happy animals do not judge you on your gender or sexuality. That is why dolphins and this song make me cry too and that is why I would like you to put this song on your website."
