Plot
When Dr. Jennifer Kessler (Joanna Kerns) sees how some of her
patients in the Collington hospital suddenly just die, she starts to think
something weird is going on. Then, when she witnesses how Dr. Alvin Hayes
dies right before he wanted to tell her a major secret, she knows there's
something wrong in the hospital. Jennifer doesn't believe the patients died because they
were sick, but because someone in the hospital is doing something terrible
to them. And because no one seems to believe Jennifer, she is the only one
who can stop it before it's too late.
Robert Englund's character Dr. Ralph Wannamaker is, like Jennifer, a docter at the Collington
hospital. But Jennifer and Ralph don't really get along together. While
Jennifer is a docter who wants to save every patient no matter what, Ralph
believes that if patients aren't able to take care of themselves, why
should they? This doesn't only make Jennifer hate Ralph, this also makes
Dr. Wannamaker a suspect.
Just like the 1978 classic Coma starring Michael Douglas, Mortal Fear is
based on a best-selling novel by Robin Cook. The film was released in the
United States on November 20th 1994. This TV-movie was directed by Larry
Shaw, who has allot of experience with directing Tv-shows.

Quotes
"What are you doing in here, Jennifer?!"
"Cardiac needle?"
"This is not arrest, Jennifer. Look at his mouth. It's blood!"
"Did you get X-rays?"
"For what? We both know what it's going to look like? This guy split open like a squashed
grape!"
"What's your conclusion?"
"Something is killing people in this hospital!"
[Ralph laughs]
"What's so funny, Ralph?"
"Oh jee Jen, you just jumped from malpractice to murder in less than ten
seconds."
"I didn't say someone, I said something. I'm afraid we may be dealing with some sort of epidemic."
"Epedemic? Listen, this guys were in terrible shape, good riddance!"
"Good riddance?"
"Yeah, we can't affort taking care of people that don't take care of
themselves."
"Oh great Ralph, I'll remind you of that when you're grabbing your chest and screaming in pain,
ok?"
"No no, don't do a damn thing, let me fade away with some dignity, that's all I ask, you
know."
"We spent most of the resorses of this hospital, or any other hospital for that matter,
saving people's lifes that don't deserve to be saved."
