Plot
It's been ten years after director and writer Wes Craven directed
the first Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984 and Heather Langenkamp, who
played the character of Nancy Thompson in Nightmare on Elm Street and
Nightmare on Elm Street 3, couldn't be happier. She has a lovely home and
a happy life with her husband Chase Porter and her son Dylan.
But this happy life suddenly changes when Heather discovers the nightmares
she keeps having at night are not normal nightmares. She finds out she's
not the only one having nightmares; also producer Robert Shaye from New
Line Cinema, director Wes Craven and even her son Dylan are suffering from
the same horrible dreams.
It then doesn't take long for Heather to discover the horrible truth;
Freddy Krueger escaped and is trying to get into the real world. Heather
first doesn't know what to do, but then Wes Craven tells her there's only
one way Freddy can be stopped. And that is if Nancy is willing to play
Nancy Thompson for one last time ...

Trivia
Robert plays the parts of Freddy Krueger and himself.
In the original script there was a scene that would put Robert and Freddy
together in a dream, but this scene was dropped eventually.
According to Robert, this is still one of his favourite Nightmare on Elm
Street films.
This film reunited Robert with Heather Langenkamp, Lin Shaye, John Saxon,
Jsu Garcia (Nick Corri), Tuesday Knight, Wes Craven, Sara Risher and
Robert Shaye, all people who worked on one or several Nightmare on Elm
Street films.
Robert and Lin Shaye worked on five different movies together, including
this one. The other projects Robert and Lin worked on are A
Nightmare on Elm Street, Wish
You Were Dead, 2001 Maniacs and Killer
Pad.
