| Update
on the Nightmare on Elm Street remake |
There
wasn't allot of news about the Nightmare remake, but now
it's official: Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller has
stated that after the Friday the 13th remake, Nightmare on
Elm Street is the going into production. Fuller claims that
they want to make Freddy scary again in their new film and
that they hope to start filming this spring.
There isn't much news, but Fuller did again talk about
Robert being in the film. There's no way Robert will play
Freddy, but he would love it if Rob had a cameo. Robert also
stated in many interviews he would love to get a small part
in the film. Wes Craven, creator of Freddy, will have
nothing to do with the new Nightmare on Elm Street.

| Cameo
for Robert in Nightmare on Elm Street remake? |
We
all know Robert is not going to play Freddy Krueger in the
upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, but still
there might be a change we see Robert in the film. Robert
has stated many times in interviews he would love to make an
appearance, maybe as the dream specialist (a role such as Dr.
King, played by Charles Fleischer in the original).
Now, at the San Diego Comic Con, Platinum Dunes director
producer Brad Fuller responded with "We would love to
have him!". So there might be a change we see Robert in
the remake. It would be like Gunnar Hansen who got offered
the cameo of the truckdriver at the end of the Texas
Chainsaw Massacre remake.
The Nightmare on Elm Street remake is currently being
written by Wesley Strick (Arachnophobia).

| A
Nightmare on Elm Street Remake without Robert! |
Sad
news for all us fans. Platinum Dunes is going to remake A
Nightmare on Elm Street. The production company, who also
did the remake for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, is planning
on getting a writer to do the screenplay as soon as the big strike is over.
But that's not the worst part, for many different sources
claim that Robert is nót going to play Freddy Krueger in
this new version of Wes Craven's classic. Not allot is known
about this project yet, but it doesn't sound too good for
most die hard fans. Who is going to direct the film or if
the Freddy Krueger we all know is going to be back is
unknown at the moment.

It's
been in the news for some time now; Robert Englund is
working on a remake of the Russian horror film The Viy
(1967). According to Robert, he went to London this november
to talk to Dracula and Lord of the Rings actor Christopher
Lee about appearing in the film.
Robert about The Viy: “The Viy is a creature of Russian/Ukrainian
folklore, and it’s somewhere between the Djinn of
Wishmaster and a fallen angel from purgatory. He has stepped
on God’s toes and has to go to Earth, and is pretty
cantankerous. We’re hoping to use some of the sets that
were left over from The Passion of the Christ.”

| No
Horror in the Wind for Robert |
The
rumors that Robert might appear in the horrorfilm Horror in
the Wind by Max Mitchell are said to be false. According to
an article on Cinematical.com Robert is in no way involved
with this film, which tells the story of two biogeneticists who
invent a formula that changes the sexual
orientation of anyone it reaches.
It seems that some are just super-anxious to see Robert
Englund get his orientation changed, as Max Mitchell
commented below, there is no truth to his involvement.
Regardless, it's one hell of an idea!
