This is
the internet site of the Dutch Jazz Club "Langs de Lijn". Officially this is a Dutch
site only. But as a little service for the people that browse on
the World Wide Web and visit our site, we think it is nice to
write at least one page with some information of our jazz club in
the English language too. Still there are some links on this page.
All the links on this page links to the Dutch language area.
Therefore, on this page there are some instructions (before
or after the link) that explains the linked (Dutch) page. To
return to this page after you click on a link, you have to click

Only about 30 km from Amsterdam (The
Netherlands) is a tiny nice village named Bussum. This is the
place where our jazzclub has its home! There used to be a
pub near one of the oldest railroads of Holland. The name of the
pub was "Spoorzicht" that means something like:
"Railroad view" In 1982 the owner off this
pub, Louis
Klumper
bought a big building next to the pub en started a party centre.
He named the party centre "Langs de Lijn" that
means "Beside the railroad" At that moment
there where some enthusiastic people that started organizing jam
sessions in the pub now started a real club in this new next door
building. A Jazz club. They gave the club the name of the party
centre they started: "Langs de Lijn" preceded with the
name of the area called: 't Gooi. It becomes a great success.
These days the "Gooise Jazz club Langs de Lijn" is one
of the biggest jazz clubs in our little country and the number of
members is still increasing every season.
During this season, running from September until May we organize jam sessions almost every Thursday evening and a real concert every Sunday afternoon. If you are a member the entrance is always free !!
A member only pays 32 Euro (is about $32,-) for the whole season. If you can visit us only 25 times a season that is only one dollar for a great Sunday afternoon concert. If you join every concert (mostly 40 pro season) it is even less!!!. If you are living in the neighbourhood of Bussum and you love jazz and jazzy music, please visit our club and if you like it you can become a member. Than you can enjoy all the benefits of a member en we can keep the membership price as low as possible.

The next link displays a map of the area and the city of Bussum. On the map you can see a highway on the right side (thick red line). This is the A1. It goes from Amsterdam to Amersfoort.
You can also reach us by train. Just disembark at railway station Naarden/Bussum. From there you have to walk a few minutes to the Herenstraat.
