Reports in 2005: April - June

1. Number of Attacks in 2005:
For the first quarter of 2005 the first quarterly report of the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) has been published in April 1. It contains details on 56 reported incidents and an analysis of this. Three reports have been published at the website of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for January 2, February 3, March 4 and April5. Together these reports contain details on the same 79 reported incidents.
So far the only official reports on piracy for the second quarter were the Weekly Piracy Reports in this year which are published at the Web site of the International Chamber of Commerce 6. The total reported incidents in the Weekly reports for this period is: 81.
If I make an estimate for the whole period the total number: ([{5 * 0,125 + 76} / 82,70 * 100= 92,654] + 56=) 149.

I estimate the total for the first half of 2005 to be: 149 because I expect more incidents in the first six months to be reported by the IMB or in the monthly reports by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
