I am building two of these tanks for my friend Hein and a friend of him. They are building two dutch submarines. The advantage of a bouble piston tank is that the gravity point stays on the same place and that is a great advantage. Makes building a tank more complicated and was a new challenge for me.
I've build allready several different tanks and made a EXCEL file so that before I've build anything I can calculate it's performance. Most important is the maximum diving depth. I normally want a save depth of 25-30 meters. Also the time used to fill and empty the tank is calculated, together with the "power " that is coming on the piston ( in kg). After each new tank has been build I check my calculated data with the measured data so at the moment the formulas are pretty good. Only a small difference can be seen between these data.
As material I usually use aluminium, messing, steel and RVS.
