New Cockpit for Janner.

Janner was originally built as an open racing boat.
When we bought Janner, she was fitted out with a cabin and a cockpit.
The cabin and the cockpit were built on the base of the old coamings of the open boat.
This resulted in a cockpit that was too narrow and too deep for our taste.

We decided to rebuild the cockpit, raising the seats to decklevel and adding a rounded coaming, to provide wider seats.
This also considerably increased the size of the cockpit lockers and their lids.
We even offered one locker in favour of a quarter berth.
All lids, the new bridgedeck and the engine hatch are covered with teak.
The cockpitfloor also received a teak grating.

These pictures are from the (not entirely) finished cockpit.
The foundations for the winches and cleats still have to be mounted to the coaming.
However, the improvement over the original layout must be clear !
