Chat Rev 1.2M
This is version 1.2M19 of ChatRevdate: 17 December 2004 About ChatRev ChatRev Client is an application that can connect to a ChatRev Server. It works like any other regular chatbox. Even though there are messengers such as MSN, AIM, ICQ, Gadu-Gadu, iChat, and others, there might still be occasions when you want to use a chatbox where you can meet a community. For example, you can keep this application open while you are developing your own software, to talk to your fellow-developers. It is also possible download and run a server and build your own community. To use ChatRev, you need to connect to a server. Björnke runs the default server. His IP URL is: http://www.revolutionboard.de/bvg/ip.txt. The default port is 80, a test server might be 8080. Mark might be running a server, sometimes. The IP URL is: http://home.wanadoo.nl/mark.sch/ip.txt. If Mark's server is running, it will usually be on port 8080. The files smileys.sit and smileys.zip contain smiley pictures for that can be stored locally. Put the Smileys folder into the User Dat folder of the Rev Chat application. You can put the sound file glass.aif into the User Data as well and configure your setting to play this sound file upon message arrival.
Download The RevChat client is available for Linux, MacOS X, MacOS Classic (PPC), and Windows. If you need a version for a Unix flavour, just contact the developer with a request to compile one for you. There is also a set of Smileys available, which should reside in the User Data folder of the RevChat application. It is not necessary to install this, though. Client version 1.2M19 is compatible with ChatRev servers 1.2.6 and 1.3.
A Revolution stack file is also available. This allows you to run the RevChat client in Revolution while you are working on other stacks. So, you won't need to run RevChat as a separate client, while Revolution is already open and provides the necesssary environment to run the client. Besides, you can use the stack to customize it. Using, changing, or redistributing the stack means that you agree with the license conditions as stated in the Read Me file!. ![]() Screenshot of the RevChat client running in MacOS 9 If you want, you can sponsor this project With your help, the client will improve.
