CheckPDF is a little utility that reads some information from PDF files without opening them in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Drop a file onto this application or open a PDF file after double-clicking CheckPDF 1.0 in the Finder.
If CheckPDF finds it, it will display a dialog with the application that created the original file, the creation date, the title stored in the PDF file, the author, the PDF engine that produced the PDF file, keywords, and the subject. If more comments are entered between Creator and Subject, they will be included and displayed in the dialog.
In this dialog, you can click an Open or a Cancel button. If you click the Open button, the PDF file will be opened in your Adobe Acrobat Reader application.
CheckPDF works with:

CheckPDF may be compatible with but has not been tested with older system software.

In the text below, application refers to CheckPDF 1.0 and the accompanying components. Author refers to Mark Schonewille, product is defined as any medium that may contain CheckPDF 1.0. Other terms are defined by international agreements, directions of the European Union or Dutch national laws. A number of terms are defined by custom law.
CheckPDF 1.0 is a copyright protected application. The application and all other components of this software package cannot be sold as a separate software package and cannot be part of any commercial product, such as magazines, shareware collections on cd-rom and the internet, books and promotional artefacts, without a written permit of the author. This restriction also holds if the product is a free gift.
CheckPDF 1.0 may be freely distributed in unaltered form, as long as the above restriction is not violated. This means that CheckPDF 1.0 is freeware, but the property rights remain with the author. The author is eligible to request the removal of the application from hard disks and computers and the destruction of any other product that contains the application.
