Sigma BC500 Tripmaster & Roadbook

I needed my Acerbis roadbook reader and a bicycle speedo. The Sigma BC500 fits nice on the handlebars. With a tie-wrap I attached the sensor to the metal plate at the rear of the speedometre cable. A spiral shaped 'cable collector' keeps the Sigma cable in position.

The roadbook reader had to be attached without the extra bar on the handlebars. I swapped the bolts for four M6 40mm screwable bolts. Eight nuts keep the counterplate at fixed distance. Two 52mm hose clamps keep my reader on the handlebars.

By locating both turning knobs on the left side of the reader the roadbook can be rolled while riding. For easy rolling just grease the ends of the rods with vaseline.

Hand and handle guards

A enduro motorbike should have these hand and handle guards. Acerbis can be seen on most photos in magazines but they cost a fortune - I suspect half the price to be for the name...

HG hand- and handle guards

Hein Gericke has a great alternative - they look well, seem to be sturdy and are made of indestructable nylon. The complete set holds two guards and all stuff to attach it to the handlebars. For 20 euro you can choose different colors.

Big or small fuel tank

The out-of-the-box LC4 has an 11 litres fuel tank. Just enough for an afternoons ride but far too less for longer hauls. That is when you want to ride in stead of refuelling...

20 and 11 litre tanks

20 and 11 litre tank - almost the same looks

Graet alternative is the 20 litre fuel tank - in Germany it seems you can choose this one or the small one at your new LC4. I bought my 20 litre tank second hand. Together with two taps, extra mounts and some fuel hose it cost me 135 euro. Brand new the repaintable tanks cost about 450 euro. Twenty and thirty litre tanks are almost as costly.

To be sure I but and extra fule flitre before the carburettor. After using 13.5 litres at least one tap needs to be put on reserve - when you reach this point all hoses runned dry and you'll need to start for a while. Shortening the hoses is andother way...

CRD Skidplate

It surely is worth the one and a half kilos extra weight to mount this shiny skidplate. The French company CRD makes very beautiful skidplates with high sides where needed and a broad frond side. The plate is made of 4 mm strong aluminium with abundant holes for fresh air and mud and to take parts out you accidentally dropped above.

For dealer addresses please inform at CRD website. Delivery took about four weeks. The LC4 electro starter version skidplate costs about 115 euro.

Toolbag

These enduro fender bags are very practical but way too expensive and not very long lasting. With a piece of Ortlieb/Aerostich fabric, a zipper and some straps I made a bag myself. The base is taken from the luggeage rack. Nice don't you think?

Enduro toolbag homemade

The coated canvas can be processed with a regular sewing machine, jeans needles and nylon yarn. With some glue the pieces can be put together provisorily.
