The Green frog synklepton. These green coloured frogs have a length between 5 and 9 cm. There are 3 species green frogs: the Pool frog, the Edible frog and the March frog (or Lake frog). It is difficult to see the difference between the 3 species. For a reliable determination a blood-test is desired. They live whole summer long, in and around clean water and they do not have specific habitat demands.
Rana temporaria
The Common frog is a ± 9 cm. big, much seen, striped and spotted frog which is brown coloured. They are present early in the year and do not have specific demands for their habitat.
Rana arvalis
The Moorfrog is a ± 8 cm.big frog with relative short paws. They are brown-grey coloured and differ less from the common frog. The only differences are that they have a light stripe over their body and a pointed snout. The males can become clear blue coloured during their reproduction period. They live in moist moorlands and moist woods.
Hyla arborea
The Common tree frog is a very small frog with a bodysize of ± 4 cm. Its skin is clear green and smooth.A brown stripe runs from the snout of the frog, via the flanks to the backpaws. Their fingers and toes contain suckers. Their reproduction habitat contains of waters with less stream, a rich vegetation and a lot of sun. They usually live on black-berrybushes.
