HOME NEWS THROTTLE YOKE FMC MIP/GLARE PANELS SEATS ELECTRONICS FIRSTPANEL LINKS FOR SALE REAL FLYING

After my first experiences with FS2-4 in the early nineties I decided to get my PPL. I took lessons til I got my RPL at the Martinair Flying school at Lelystad Airport (EHLE). The aircraft used was a American Tiger (AG-5B).

After I visited almost every airport in the Netherlands I decided to get my PPL. In the Netherlands it is quite expensive to rent a plane. So why hire or take lessons in a 4 seater if you can do the same in a 2 seater? So I went for a Cessna 150 (PHGRA). and took lessons in navigation at Polder Aviation.

In the spring of 2005 I decided to join the Diamond Diesel Flyers. A bunch of people that are going to operate a brand new Diamond Star (DA40), it has a TDI diesel engine. This cuts down the fuel costs quite a lot. Besides that it is a very modern and advanced airplane. If you want to now more about this plane look here.

On this page I will show some pictures of approaches to Dutch airfields and offcourse the DA40 TDI. The plane arrived in the Netherlands on sept 26th 2005. I did my check ride on it on oct 4th.

Pics are 70-150 kb, so be patient with a slow connection.

That's me, just before my first flight in the brand new DA 40.

We made a IFR flight with 2 other members of the flyingclub from Roterdam via Merville, France and Liege,Belgium back to Rotterdam. The ceiling was covered with a base on 4000 feet, so very nice for my first IFR experience.

The DA42 twin star made by Diamond is a very modern light twin 4 seater plane with the Garmin 1000 avionic set.
