5k barrier blown!
An injection of over 100 items today (mainly scan probes and their bps, implants, and rig components), took me past the 5000 distinct items milestone!
A pretty good testament to my insanity I would say! :)
Collection milestone history:
5000: Monday, 4 December, 2006
4000: Sunday, 11 June, 2006
3000: Monday, 26 September, 2005
2000: Saturday, 1 January, 2005
1000: Sunday, 14 March, 2004 (based on recovered old records)
I made the site a bit more pleasant to read by making the actual news text gray too ;)

CCP did it again...
Revelations... It sure was no revelation seeing the sheer amount of new items added, as CCP keeps up the tradition of adding TONS of new types every major patch.
On the bright side, I'm real close to 5000 items, though mostly because I recently bought almost every tech1 bpo out there (I previously did not consider blueprints for the collection)
In other news, I'm looking forward to buying the mighty (and utterly sexy) Corvus and Storm battleships from whoever wins the Alliance PVP Tournament!
Good Luck to Omniscient Order (representing The Sani Sabik)!!

4k barrier shattered!
There are now over 4000 different items in my collection!
Thanks to Argenton Sayvers and Ashvul for the short sprint to the 4k mark :)
Collection milestone history:
4000: Sunday, 11 June, 2006
3000: Monday, 26 September, 2005
2000: Saturday, 1 January, 2005
Hmm, it seems I'm averaging out at about 3.5 to 4 new items per day, not bad!

Departure of a Legend
Ben "ioctl" Crackel - 06-May-1983 - 05-Jun-2006
Farewell io, it was an honour being a friend, flying with you, and hitting on you <3
I'll miss you :(

So, a new year... now what?
Seems I forgot to post a news blurb with the RMR release...
...which, unsurprisingly, added craploads of content.
In fact, over the past few patches so much stuff has been added, changed, removed, etc, that even my semi automated script for keeping track of the collection no longer cuts it.
So, I present the next stage in the evolution of EVE item collecting: Clicky!.
This application, written in Python
and using the wxPython extension,
uses EVE's cache data directly which means I always have up to date item lists, and lets me tag acquired items quickly and conveniently
Furthermore, it takes care of generating the item list pages from templates, and uploading them to my webspace. Automation ftw!
Happy newyear all!

Black Mamba - Omega Theory - Corpus Inanis - ...
The one thing I would have thought to be out of my reach forever, considered to
be the Holy Grail of EVE by many (me included) is now sitting in my hangar, and
this would not be possible without the generousity of Madcap Magician.
Since its creation approximately 2 years ago, I have been in love with the Megathron Federate Issue.
Pics of the preciouss: One | Two | Three
Thank you, Madcap, for making a dream come true!

After completing the True Sansha modules set earlier this week, I now have over 3000 different items.
Probably the ultimate proof of me having absolutely no life...
... 4000 here I come! :)
Friday, 16 September, 2005
Woo, completed the Guristas modules set!
Thursday, 11 August, 2005
Okay finally got around adding the COSMOS crud.
This list only contains the mission items and build components though, not the actual modules you can get. I will add those later as it's kind of a pain to figure out what is a COSMOS module in the database.

True to the tradition, a lot of new items appeared in latest patch... Grrr... On the bright side, I have just completed the Shadow Serpentis modules set.
Although it seems they added faction ammo now too so I'll have to get 1 unit of that stuff as well.. Hmpf... Oh well, keeps me busy I guess.

Added a new sheet to the library, showing missile damage over time. Nothing special but may be of use to someone somewhere.
In other news; I am now approaching the 2500 items mark. This is really a never-ending task though, as the 3363 patch did what most patches did so far: ADD MORE FREAKING ITEMS! aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!! (but I still love you, CCP ;)

At long last!
An item I have been waiting for finally crossed my path: Trinary Data.
There exist only a handful of these on the server, and were dropped by Veniel (a Jove dude) a very long time ago in an event.
Many thanks to GFLTorque for allowing me to get my hands on this lovely little tradegood item.

Another website upgrade!
The collection lists became rather unwieldy;
I had 1 seperate HTML document for each list and maintained it manually, commenting out items when I got them.
As you can probably imagine, dealing with over 3000 item entries in more than 30 files isn't partcularly fun.
So, to make life easier I made a maintenance tool using
Python.
It takes item lists in XML (which I still have to edit manually when I get new items),
and generates the web pages using a
template.
Another tool then automatically uploads the site to my webspace.

Well seems that with the coming of year 2005, the number of different items I collected blew right past 2005, on to a whopping 2025!
I also finally got around to rewriting the site to make use of the spiffy new EVE browser. I do not like the default white-on-black scheme much though, it kind of strains my eyes if I look at it for too long, so I took the opportunity to clue myself up on CSS a bit. I should have done this a long time ago already!
Anyway, Happy new year to everyone, may the ISK flow, and items be collected! :-)

The
Library has been updated. The Targeting and Speed calculator sheets are now up to date for Exodus.
Wednesday, 14 December, 2004
I have switched to another provider. Previous one was Cable, this new one is ADSL.
Little comparison:
Cable: 1024/256, 15GB limit, EUR 49,95/month
ADSL: 1120/352, No limit, EUR 19,95/month for 6 months, 34,95/month after.
Do you also think this makes the cable provider look like a scam? :-)
Wednesday, 24 November, 2004
Yay! Exodus!.. *looks at item database*... OHNOES! HUNDREDS OF NEW ITEMS! HUNDREDS!!!...
AaaaaarrrrrghhhhhH!!!!
Wednesday, 17 November, 2004
A common request I get is to post screenies of the collection. I've started taking some pics. I'll put them on a seperate page later.
In the mean time, there's a pic of my
ships and
faction loot to look at :)
Saturday, 6 November, 2004
At long last! Finally I have gotten the elusive
Mark I Generator Refitting: Shield Power Relay!
Now, this -would- have completed the engineering section of the collection, if it weren't for the fact CCP added more items in the mean time :/. Anyway, This module has been hiding from me for a very, very long time. Big thanks to Worlds for providing it :-)
Also, the
Library has been updated with two new geek sheets! a Shield/Armor tanking calc and and a revamped cargo capacity calc.
Tuesday, 28 September, 2004
Ergh! At least CCP are consistent, but... jeez... the amount of items added every patch or static update is getting out of hand here :)
Approximately 128 new techlevel 1 meta items have been added. That... ...is a lot of items. Back to square one :(
Wednesday, 11 August, 2004
As usual: New patch, New
items... Sigh... :-)
Friday, 25 June, 2004
Added the new faction loot to the collection pages. This stuff is hot!
Sunday, 14 June, 2004
It's a shuttle! It's a cruiser! It's an interceptor! No wait, it's a frigate!
And what a frigate it is. I finally bought something I wanted to get for quite some time; a
Silver Magnate :-)
I made a nice screenie of this beautifully modeled ship
here (picture, doesn't work ingame. too lazy to wrap it in a html :)
Sunday, 9 May, 2004
Woo, completed the set of shiplogs, all 55 of them!
Saturday, 8 May, 2004
Yay, got all Jove parts now. at 5M per part kind of expensive though, but ah well..
Thursday, 6 May, 2004
Bah, CCP just keeps adding more stuff... Jove parts... sigh :-)
Saturday, 1 May, 2004
Woo! 4 more old items! This time the Supplemental Omni and Radar ECCM Scanning Arrays, Emergency Multi-frequency Scanners and F-42 Reiterative LADAR Backup Sensors, thanks to Sabahl!
Keep them coming people, check those old hangars :D
Sunday, 25 April, 2004
New section
I finally got around adding the
Library section. For now it just has a few handy tools (Excel spreadsheets) available for download. More stuff will be added there later.
Monday, 19 April, 2004
What the ...
Well, thanks to Mr Tzadkiel I now have a
Radar Positional ECCM Sensor System I.
If you wonder why that's so special: It doesn't appear to drop anymore in-game, like most of the
electronics that I am still missing.
This means it's probably ~7 months old. Thanks Tzad! :-D
Thursday, 8 April, 2004
Tech Level 2
Added Techlevel 2 items section to the
Collection pages.
Saturday, 13 March, 2004
Woo yay!
Looks like my new webby is finally starting to take shape.
It's designed to look good ingame, I don't really care much how it looks in IE6 and other browsers...
