Classical guitarist Chinmaya Dunster returns on this third outing from New Earth Records, bringing a melodic sensibility to this celebration of both the Chinese art of placement and the Buddhist eightfold path. It's a logical integration, for Feng Shui postulates that the universe is made up of eight distinct energies, and the 'ba-qua' or map of placement used in Feng Shui demonstrates how these eight energies impact a house or another living space. Based on this connection, these tunes embody a light and spacious feel, giving sonic form to such qualities as stillness, receptivity, and connectedness. While the guitar is prominent, this is an ensemble composition, showcasing music that seamlessly weaves Eastern and Western themes together.
