11/23 September 1896 in St. Petersburg. Died: 2 October 1938 in Kiev.

Education

Kosenko graduated from St. Petersburg Conservatory in 1918. He attended the composition class of N.S. Sokolov and the piano class of I.S. Miklachevski. He taught at the Zithomire Music Technicum from 1918 until 1928 and at the Music Dramatic Institute of Lysenko from 1929 until 1934 (from 1932 as professor) and at the Kiev Conservatory from 1934 until 1938. Kosenko was one of the leading figures in Ukrainian music in these years, who did often appear as a piano soloist and ensemblist.
