5 May 1936 in Odessa (Ukraine).

Education

In 1959 Krasotov graduated from the Odessa State A.V.Nezhdanova Conservatoire, where he studied composition with Prof. T.Maljukova, piano with Prof. B. Charkovs'kyj, and musicology with Prof. A.Kogan. From 1964 until 1969 he studied at the Moscow State Conservatory, master-courses of Prof. Y.A. Fortunatov and Prof. N.I. Peiko. In 1969 he received the title Doctor of Arts.
