Instructions
Installing
Just copy the entire folder to your Pocket PC or memory card. Then run Pocket Profiler.exe.
Encoding your own database
To encode your own database you must register to receive the encoder. The encoder runs on a Windows PC, also the NET Framework must be installed, later versions of XP have it installed as standard.
Next run DVD Profiler and export your data base as XML. Then run the encoder point it to your XML file and set your desired quality settings and
that's it.
Automating the encoding
This can be done using the new autoencoding feature instructions included with the encoder file.
Adding more Studio Logos
All the studio logos are contained in the Icons folder within the Pocket Profiler Folder and are in GIF format at 50x50 resolution.
1. Download or create the studio logo you require in any image manipulation software.
2. Resize it to 50x50 pixels then save in GIF format. The filename should be one word from the Studio Text eg. For Columbia Tristar you could name the file either columbia.gif or tristar.gif try to choose one of the words that does not conflict with any other studio name.
3. Copy this file to the Icons folder.
4. Locate the file Studios.txt also located in the icons folder and open it in a text editor.
5. Add the studio to the bottom of the list, this should be the same name as the gif you just created but do not include .gif, ie if your image is columbia.gif you would add Columbia to the bottom of the text file.
6. Save the text file and run the Pocket Profiler to test.
If you do create any new logos please email them to me, and periodically I will add them to the site so other users can use them in return you will also be able to use other users logos.
Changing the language of Pocket Profiler
I have included below 3 language files English, German and French. All you have to do is unrar then copy to the Icons folder within the Pocket Profiler Folder.
English French German
There is no need to copy the English file over, if there is no language file present Pocket Profiler automatically runs in English. I have included the English file so that users can edit it to create language files of their own.
This also has the advantage that you could use Pocket Profiler to store databases of other items. Eg Computer Games. What you would do is fill in information about your games in DVD Profiler and export as usual. But you could rename heading in Pocket Profiler by altering the language file to reflect exactly what is being shown. Eg DVD changed to GAME, Notes changed to Instructions etc.
NOTE: Lots have new features have been added seen the language file feature was created, therefor a few items will not be altered by the language file.
