Germany 1919-1990
1943
In 1941 Germany turned against its ally and arch-enimy, the Soviet Union. It occupied large portions of that country and amidst the attrocities of the Nazi regime some last annexations to the Greater German Realm were made in the east, natably East Galicia and the surroundings of Bialystock. Germany was now on the slow road to total defeat in World War II. The Russians turned the tide at Stalingrad and the Western allies, now joined by America, invaded France in 1944.
