Java is NOT enabled

JavaScript support
Use the buttons above to perform the browsertest. The test only works if your browser supports JavaScript.

Java support
Look at the message in green at the top of this page to find out if your browser supports Java. If Java is enabled the text will be animated.

Frame support
Frames are supported by Netscape from version 2 and MS Internet Explorer from version 3. If you were able to do the JavaScript-test you already know your browser's name and version. If this test failed your browser is probably also too old to display frames.

Troubleshooting
When there is no Java and/or JavaScript support you are either using a prehistoric browser or these options have been manually disabled. In the latter case you should enable them in your preferences- or settings-menu. Windows 3.1 browsers only support JavaScript and no Java.

Dynamic-HTML
If you are using Netscape version 4 or later you will see a couple of question marks bouncing up and down this page. This is done with Dynamic-HTML. In this example layer tags were used in combination with JavaScript. With layers one can create extensively animated webpages without using huge animated gifs. Internet Explorer 4 and later also supports DHTML, but uses different codes.

Upgrade?
Go to Netscape's home to download the latest version of Navigator and return here to view the JavaScript demo.
