Below you see a table containing all image declarations in the skin.ini files of a selected set of skins for Opera. The default images (i.e., those that can be found in the Opera 7.51 Standard Skin) have been left out, so only additional images (in the [Images] section) are listed here.

Skin authors can use this table to see which names have been used in the past. If they stick to these "conventions" more uniformity between skins will be achieved. This way users will be able to switch from one skin to another without having to rebuild the custom buttons in their toolbar setup. Well-formatted image names are names of which the words are written separately, that aren't abbreviations and that are understandable.

I have examined 156 of the currently available (2004-10-15) 276 skins, accounting for probably more than 80% of the skin downloads at MyOpera.com. They are the work of 60 different authors, and 362 different new image names were found.

This table shows which skins have been used and who their authors are. The third column shows when the skin file was downloaded from Opera's server, and the last one indicates how many additional images have been found in the skin.ini file.

The next table consists of four columns: the first contains the image names, the second and third indicate in how many skins they were found and by how many skin authors they were used, respectively. The last column shows which skins and which authors have used the image names.
