DUTCH TEX WILLER HOMEPAGE
"DUTCH TEX ALBUMS WITH STRANGE PRICING"
These two covers (above) show Dutch album nr. 23 "De Vernietigers". On the left you will see the "normal" edition with the normal pricing of "F 1,25 / BF. 18" (which means 1,25 Dutch Guilders or 18 Belgian Francs). On the right you will notice a thin black and yellow sticker over the old price and now the price has been changed into "F 1,75 / BF. 25". The images below show this again for Dutch album nr. 24:
At a certain moment, obviously, the editor must have had several older albums on stock and these were sent to the shops again. And this moment must have been somewhere between 1974 and 1976 because during this period the normal price level for the albums was 1,75 Guilders. At least that is my explanation, there are no further reports on this subject... Now the big question is: which albums have received this new price and which albums haven't? Over the last years (Dutch) collectors have sent me their reports and cover scans from these albums. Below you will find all albums that have been discovered so far (click on the title for a cover scan): It is very well possible that all albums up to nr. 33 have received new pricing, but not all of them have been reported (yet). It seems my collection of Dutch Tex Willer albums has not yet been completed (well, at least that leaves something to collect)... If anybody reading this has more information about this subject, please inform me at: info (at) texwiller (dot) nl A special thank you to all these Dutch collectors who have helped me documenting this strange phenomena: Eric, Manuel, Michaël, Erez, Douwe, Willem-Jan, Jan B., Jan K. & especially Edward, who has found so many of these editions for me!
