... well here's the full line-up :: programme schedule follows soon ...

MR.LABRADOR: :Mr Labrador is a blackdog from Rennes that makes dark noise improvisation and is now working with an analogue sound installation with contact microphones; strange objects; telephone recordings; looppedals etc. He creates desolate soundscapes, with krautlike rhythms combined with fieldrecording samples coming from his phone. The dog will play solo aswell as with his group 4 Semaines Sylvie, plus his amazing visual work will be exibited during the festival.

ARNO BRUIL: :Arno makes electronic music using laptop, effects and vintage recordplayers. He also plays in France Sauvage and other projects. In Rennes he is the curator of the club La Bascule and together with Mr.Labrador he is responsible for the L'Agrippa festival in Bretagne.

DUDU GEVA: :Dudu Geva is a collective of French lunatics from Rennes and Bordeaux exploring combinations of psychedelic mayhem, blues, art brut, and progressive pop chord structures ... or is it a mix of Art Rock, Punk, Lo-Fi, Experimental, Parody and Improvisation? (while also dealing with ugly kebabs, elohimian mysteries, dirty socks, phantorexia and cheap sci-fi philosophy) Using heavy guitars, bass, distorted electronics, bombastic drums and a male and female singer they combine their music with a theatrical performance inspired by bands like Caroliner Rainbow, The Residents, Throbbing Gristle or Captain Beefhart.

FRANCE SAUVAGE: :Four darkbrown freaks in search of fire, their improvisations are in there eyes both fragile and violent. Arnaud Debreu: he plays with a computer (or is it the computer that plays with him?), objects, Ukulélé, pick-up, turntables Manuel Duval: sometimes uses a kettle by way of mediator, guitar player Johann Mazé is a drummer definitely not like Phil Collins: also uses objects, field recordings, multi-effects Simon Poligné: plays keyboards, vocals, multi-effects, turntable The band has traces of Volcano The Bear, Nurse with wound or Faust.

4 SEMAINES SYLVIE: :Is what you call ”a supergroup”consisting of 7/8 musicians and growing, with members from Dudu Geva, France Sauvage and Mr.Labrador. Their sound is a mix of ambient noise, power electronics, snuff jazz & rough rock and free improv. Core members are Vincent Ribald, who plays lo-fi electronics, analoge multi-effects and objects; Arnaud Debreu uses record players, computer and toyguitar; Johan does drums and effects; Manual Duval plays guitar and electronica and Sebastien Baker on keyboard ,computer and installation..

NOUVELLES IMPRESSIONS D'AFRIQUE: :Claiming that "Power is Beauty", the french post avant-rock unit "Nouvelles Impressions D'Afrique" ("New Impressions of Africa") plays whimsical and compulsive mash-ups made of musical debris of 20th Century so-called popular music, in a post-colonial mood reminding us the failure and wreckage of modern democracy. A chance meeting, in the realm of History's dustbins of white trash, conservative heavy metal, rotten cold wave, anonymous soft rock, blackened no wave and many more... The 4 individuals of N.I.A are : Lydia Flunch on bass, keyboard and vocals; Le Dormeur du Val on guitar and bass; Marlen Lili-Frites on bass, guitar plus vocals and Le Franciscain on drums. They also play in other bands and projects, like: Roger Robert, Front Gauche de l'Art , La S.D.P.O.

SUPER JEAN FRANCOIS PLOMB: :Super Jean François Plomb is a sound artist. After studies on the Art schools of Lyon and the FAC d' Visual arts of Etienne Saint, he gradually turned to sculpturing large sound installations , mobiles and programmed random mechanics. It directed him towards a more musical installation by using contrasting elements in the current portable formula. Jean Francois uses Suitcases filled with a whole device of small simple mechanics and hanging electric motors: Oldfasion Suitcases open to the public for listening ... The sound off the rubbings on various surfaces is hypertrophied by the amplifiers, that vibrate, that click, that whistles ... of the small gravels that roll and a small surface which trembles. all mixed and controled by special consoles for each suitcase : he knows how to tidal wave in a puddle ...

MR.HONK: :Fascinated by music and graphics from an early age, he explored these two universes in transversal ways. During his early youth he learned playing the flute and drawing, however quickly he started experimenting with new media as they became available: photography, synthesizers, computers, video, vinyl, radio… He has played in various formations and styles: Aïwa (jungle/dub), Beyond (experimental improvisation), Akheron (industrial jazz rock)… He also wrote the music for a number of documentaries, and for theatre. He has been making the KrashTest radio program for the past 15 years, as well as editing the 'Le KrashWar' fanzine, in association with Le Klub des Krasheurs. He also organise concerts, specifically the KrashNoz Festival (Total Khaos/Ultimate Muzik) a daring mix of noise and tekno. At the moment he is busy with a new solo set mixing flute, computer and vinyl… creating long , dense sound compositions that feel like an intense psychedelic experience.. He will also exibit his visual work and posterart from his Krashnoz organisation on the expo of the event..

BASSHATERS: :Drum and double bass duo from San Francisco bridging the gap between acoustic free improv and electronic noise. They are equally active in both the improv and Brutal Sound Effects noise scenes thriving in the Bay Area. Basshaters enjoys working with a multitude of sounds and techniques exploiting the vast possibilities available for activating large resonant bodies. Their electronic music strives to match the fluidity of their acoustic instruments. The duo seeks directness and intensity in execution. Subtleties emerge from the bold statement of simple ideas. In addition to Basshaters, Dryer & Heule have released an album on Lisbon's Creative Sources with clarinetist Jacob Lindsay . This unconventional rhythm section also has a trio CD with saxophonist Jack Wright. Jacob Felix Heule is active with his brutal improv duo, Ettrick, and has toured the US and Europe with Gowns. Tony Dryer has toured extensively with rock groups including the Flying Luttenbachers and Usurp Synapse, as well as a solo US tour. Both are current members of Caroliner(rainbow) , the legendary ungoing psygedelic theatrical noise band from San Fransisco that has been a big influence in the french experimental scene. Tony Dryer: double bass Jacob Felix Heule: drum set, electronics

PENINSULA PROJECT: :Tuba/guitar/bass trio something between a marching band, a rock band, and a harsh noise band. Peninsula Project is a hard-working Norwegian trio, active in the Oslo improv scene with many different projects. They are also busy with their rock band MOE, who will release their first 7" single in February 2009. With a feedback tuba screaming in the highest frequencies, guitar blasting on pitches out of control, bass sneering like a mean dog and voice taken from a Hitchcock movie, it's just another feedback marching band.

SKASM: :Norwegians Skasm combine the qualities of acoustic and electronic sounds into a whole. Two electric guitars with a range from noisy sounds and feedback to pure tones, voice processed or pure scream, acoustic bass rumbling in low frequencies or high pitched frenetic chaos. Skasm builds the music from fractions or layers, in opposition to each other or built as a unison movement. Sometimes hazardous, sometimes most careful, but always with a focus on the present.  Always open. The main focus is to keep looking for new meetings and new ways of building or maintaining whatever stream of music they have found. Skasm is based around the guitar and double bass duo of Haavard Skaset and Guro Skumsnes Moe. For this tour Harald Fetveit (guitar) will complete the trio. During the last four years they have toured Norway, the rest of Europe, and the US with bands like Art Directors, Peninsula Project, Bay/Oslo Mirror Trio, and Bak-truppen.

JEUDI POP: (Anne Cecile Rouxel, Rinus van Alebeek) :A combination of musique concrete and electropunkpop, might seem an odd combination of two genres that at first 'sight' appear completely opposed to each other. Those who listen more close will discover that Jeudi Pop brings together again the aspects of experimental music that once were united in the works of Luc Ferrari: ambiental recordings, melodies, voices and atmospheric compositions. Jeudi Pop works within the same flux: other landscapes and different sights, but the same warmth. **Anne-Cecile Rouxel Always on the move with her electronica project Ninca Leece, she also writes music for films/museums. Recently she has been working on a performance/composition for the Bonger collection at Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam (july 2009). **Rinus Van Alebeek: Is a tape musician and performer born in Holland in 1956.   His approach to musical improvisation is seen as a radical one. Very frequently he uses as a source for his work the sounds recorded in his trips to the USA, around Europe and the North African countries. He is a peculiar observer of reality and an artist who instinctively transforms lo-fi tape recordings into evocative sound poems, being able to create a “détachement” towards the used media, which is a characteristic of the most original artists.

KAPOTTE MUZIEK: :Kapotte Muziek is an electro-acoustic trio of Frans de Waard (Staalplaat), Peter Duimelinks and Roel Meelkop. They play live concerts and never make studio recordings. During live performances Kapotte Muziek explore the minimum input of acoustic sound to a maximum extent. All sounds originate from obsolete materials that we have found in the course of our activities. Every performance is preceded by a 'junk search' to obtain new sound material. In the past we have used metal (from very small to very big), wood, paper, plastic, glass, stones etc. Every object is thoroughly explored for its sound qualities, amplified either by microphone or by contact-microphone. This is combined live with pre-recorded sounds of acoustic, environmental and electronic origin. A 2005 live recording can be downloaded for free here: http://www.earlabs.org/label/lm/lm030.asp?titleid=1395

REDTHEPLANEEET!!!: :Diy superheroes Super Robber, Roaming Rabecca and She-man putting highly danceable and noisy, attack and defense, strategies to prepare u for your own mission : ... red the planeeet They use a blend of electronic & bended devices, samples, drums, bass, synth, guitar and voice. Giving birth to f-indie post-punk disco noise electronique ... with members of Ghiu and Teledubbies

SHITCLUSTER: :Shitcluster are a multimedia collective based in Den Haag with a sporadic catalogue of CDrs and 12"s released over the last 10 years, with releases on Bunker,Syncom Data, Clone. Their sound is an indefinable trip into lofi experimentation with a properly dark attitude, the synths are detuned to head melting extremes, and layered over some of the queerest hypnotic rhythms in a totally unique fashion which challenges the listener to decide between standing, sitting or curling up into the foetal position for the best listening experience. Rough cut samples pieced together with roughshod slow house tempo drum machine rhythms and a darkside experimental attitude.

BUGTIME!: :BugTime! (Robber and Kassen) has grown out of a series of late-night jam sessions on Radio Tonka and focusses on seizing the moment, their instruments and the audience in order to serve the music as fresh and hot as possible; improvisation with a groove! Their performances differ greatly in style and the instruments used, depending on the occasion. For the Fine Fleur Festival they will use their own custom build software for sequencing, the "Blippo Box" (a unique take on analogue synthesis and music generation designed by instrument-builder Rob Hordijk), a turntable for scratching and analogue effects.

KASSEN: :Kassen is a The Hague-based musician who decided he would create his own sequencer , as none of the available ones suited his needs. Taking inspiration from the interfaces used in video games he based his system around an arcade joystick the ChucK programming language and the idea that it shouldn't be necessary to look at the computer screen while performing. Now he plays house music with no pre-prepared patterns, no safety net and no "undo" function. A long time member of the infamous The Hague elektro scene (Bunker and Creme Organization), his music has been featured at both large dance events and in an academic journal.

PERFECT DEFECT: :This project by Jan van Duivenvoorden and Ivo van der Kaay naturally evolved from their granium070 radioshows on Radio Tonka. Usually somewhat experimental live improvisation ... involving unorthodox use of consumer equipment, looping with garbage records, and sometimes a synthesizer or two. In short: We drum computers, sequence rubber chickens and digital resynthezise that sound of small airplane in summer...

CITY HANDS: :City Hands is the project of Manuel Padding. Eccenctric promoter in the Den Haag scene for years, silk screen artist and the man behind the cassette and cd-r label Silver Ghosts. His performances are unpredictable but allways entertaining

BLINDSPOT (dj Team): :Blindspot is a recordstore in Rennes specialized in experimental music. They also sell Artwork, Magazines, T-shirts all coming from the local D.I.Y.scene. The store is founded and run by Fred and Pierro who are also responsible for a lot of events around Rennes and help distribute their work. Samantha Reese: :1972 born in Canada, lived and worked in Marseille and now stationed in Den Haag. " My work is often fantastical and supernatural just as many of the current world events in the last twelve months, yet my work is never literal and goes in the direction of being largely metaphorical. My work developed out of a necessity to find a balance through rough, organic and landscape forms, consistently discovering new forms and new histories. I try to present to the viewer a sincere investigation into a parallel fictional history, the very distant past and the very far future."

De tekeningen maken deel uit van een databank met beelden. Samengestelde beelden vormen het onderwerp van het schilderij.
