The building of Voskhod-2M-FFF
hydrofoil hull #605

The hydrofoils we now have are clased as zone 2.
That means the hydrofoils are content with the BinnenvaartPolitieReglement (inland navigation police regulations)
and with the Binnen Scheepvaart Besluit(inland navigation conclusion).
The BinnenvaartPolitieReglement (Ore the BPR as we cal it)is a set of rules for inland shipping.
FFF wishes also to have a Rhinecertificate on the new hydrofoils, so it is possible to navigate
on all the water in the Netherlands.
A Rhinecertificate means that your ship is also cassified for navigtion on the river Rhine.
To get a Rhinecertificate your ship must also comply with the  Rijnvaart Politie Reglement (Rhine navigation police regulations)
and with the Reglementen Onderzoek Schepen op de Rijn(regulations Investigation Ships on the Rhine).
The Dutch regulations will be addjusted in the near future for two Captains in the Cockpit.
With this in the back of our heads we redesigned the cockpit sutteble for double control.
For the hull that means rebuild the cockpit!!
Here is the old one removed.

And this is the new one.

At this time (march2002) the tecnical manager of FFF is at the shipyard to guide the finishing works
The first Sea-trail are planned for the twentieth of April 2002.

14 may 2002 Update hull#605

Week 15,
Here a better look at the new cockpit,
the lime paint was late on delivery from England.
Thats why hull 605 is all green.

Here you can see the all windows in the cockpit are of safetyglass in new allu frame.
No more plexiglass!!That meens 100% good sight, and no more leakage.
The Dutch regulations will be addjusted in the near future for two Captains in the Cockpit.
With this in the back of our heads we redesigned the cockpit sutteble for double control.
By the old cockpit you have the round plexiglass and one center window.
If you instal double control both Captains are sitting right behinde the window frame.
And now we have Two windows in the front, one for each Captain.

At the right you see the gap where the radar display will be fitted.
In the center you see the throttel control for the MTU engine.

Here is MTU Turkey instaling the engine.

Week 17,23 April

Hull #605 is seeing day light!!Sea trail time!!
The first new voskod-2M for Fast Flying Ferries is (almost)ready.
Their had to wait a few day for the wind to lay down.
The sea trails are looking very good,But green is vrey green.
We already called it the Green monster of the Black sea;-))
The reason of this was that the lime paint was late on delivery from England.
The lime will be painted on in Holland, and
als the Connexxion marks.

Click,Click, and she's gone......at 65.5Km/h(29.4T dead weigth)

Hull #605 is planned to go on transport the13/14 of May,
and due to arrive in Holland the 29th of May.
Then we must make some adjustmends.
And some tecnical changes due to Russian/Dutch regulations

07 june 2002 update hull#605
Week 22

Monday 14th of may,
Hull #605 is loaded on deck of the German coaster the Eilsum
and set "sail"to Holland.

For the coast of Spain the Eilsum meet some VERY heavy wether.
Butt the hull will not move!!!
The only problem is a two day delay, and she is now planned
for: friday the 31th instad of wednesday the 29th.

Friday 31th of May at 12:00.
The Eilsum is arrived!!!

At 12:00 the Eilsum arrived from the Feodosia shipbuilding association at Ukraine.
After the customs had cleared the ship,we could start the work.
As we where cutting los the steel cables that where holding the ship on the deck, the crane arrived.

This crane,The Dino, earlier that day set the MeteoorII back in the water in the same harbor, docked neer the Eilsum.
As we where cutting los the cables, the Dino pick the yoke on the hook.
Half a hour later the last cable is removed from hull#605,and the dino manoevred the yoke in the right posision.
After the four steel cables of the yoke where hooked on hull#605,we all waited for the crane to hoist................
At that moment the crane's engine stoped....was restarted, and stoped again..
The V-beld was broken, and had damaged the raidiator.
Normally not a big problem, but the hydraulic cylinders that support the crane's boom where leaking a little.
So the boom was slowly coming down, and in oder to hoist hull#605 the boom was in a high position,
With the tip of the boom with the hook/yoke righ above hull#605.
And now coming down, the angle was shifting to the side of the hull.
And was alraedy crushing a railing!!
And if it was shifting more the hull wold be rolled out of her cradel......
The crane man yeld: unhook the cables!!
But there where under tension, then Peter rushed down to the Dino and relesed the mooring cable.
This had as affect the the Dino was blown(Thank god there was some wind that day..) away fom the Eilsum,
and the tension on the cables was getting less.
We immededly hooked of the four cables, and the Dino was propeled to the front of the Eilsum.

So the boom had some space to lower. Now what!!!
No more crane....
Afer some phonecals, and fourty minuts later a big telecrane of Mammoet( of the Van Seumeren group)arrived.

Next problem,no more space to hoist on the side of the habor where the Eilsum was docked.
We desided to move the Eilum to the other side( the next habor).

The place where we where standing is like a smal peninsula.
So the Eilsum was redocked to the other side, and the crane was being instald.
One hour later hull#605 was hoist to the portside of the Eilsum where I pick her up
along side hydofoil the Annemarie.

From there we went to the Derderijks binnen haven where the last things will take place to meet the Dutch regulations.
And of couse the Lime paint!!
The planning is to do the first service at the 24th of this month!!
After the paint job this is how the new color will look like.

 Week 24
Almost on everyday this week is a seatrail planned.
On monday a trail with MTU,
Tuesday MTU and Dutch shipping inspection, and later on the day a 50% load trail.
Wednesday we did the 100% load, that also was no problem for the big blue MTU.
Later that day a 116,5% load trail was some work for the MTU.

Al the barrels you see are filled with water.
This is by the 116,5% load.

A look at the dash.

24 June 2002
Week 25

On Thursday 20th Hull 605 Was lifted out the water ot get her last paint job.

The painting will be done by Brasspenning .
Their are speciliest in big and very big paint jobs.
The only problem was how to get there?
Well, you go to ship dock Amsterdam, load your hydrofoil
on a 24 axel with a big Scania in the front,

and roll it to the place you want.

Just after the painting.

17 july 2002
